Corded appliances: 2 years manufacturer's warranty on the appliance plus a lifetime warranty on the motor for devices produced from 2020 onwards. Cordless models: 5-year warranty. Your statutory warranty rights towards the seller remain unaffected.

Important: Damage caused by improper use is not covered by the warranty – for example not following the instruction manual, using the appliance on the wrong voltage, overloading, dropping, liquid entering the motor housing, or unauthorised opening or repair. In such cases no warranty claim can be made and repair costs are borne by the customer.

No registration is needed – there is no central bamix® registry. bamix® is distributed by local partners who are responsible for warranty cases in their market. Please keep your proof of purchase. If a seller grants additional warranty terms, they issue their own warranty certificate.

Yes. bamix® appliances are built to be repaired. Repairs and original spare parts are handled by the bamix® partner in your country – see bamix® worldwide (USA: bamix.us, Switzerland: bamix.ch).

Motor repairs on corded appliances from 2020 onwards are covered by the lifetime motor warranty, and cordless models by the 5-year warranty – provided the appliance has been used as intended. If the damage was caused by improper use, the warranty does not apply and the repair costs are borne by the customer. Other repairs are charged according to the work required. Your local partner will inform you of the costs in advance.

Improper use includes in particular: not following the instruction manual, operating the appliance on a voltage it was not built for, overloading (e.g. running it longer than recommended or processing unsuitable foods), dropping or impact damage, liquid entering the motor housing (e.g. immersing the appliance beyond the shaft or cleaning it in the dishwasher), and opening, modifying or repairing the appliance outside an authorised bamix® service point. Normal wear parts such as blades and seals are also not covered.

In these cases no warranty claim can be made and repair costs are borne by the customer. Your local bamix® partner will inform you of the costs before carrying out a repair.

No. bamix® motors are built for the voltage of the respective market (e.g. 230 V for Europe, 120 V for the USA and Canada). A European appliance will be damaged on 120 V, even with a plug adapter – a voltage transformer would be required. As manufacturer we decline any liability in this case, as the appliance was not built or certified for these markets: no warranty claim can be made and repair costs are not covered. Please buy US models via bamix.us.

Yes. All attachments use the same fitting and are compatible with older bamix® models – with the exceptions listed below.

The bamix® MAXX is not compatible with the Processor, the SliceSy® and the Grinder.

No. The SliceSy® cannot be used with the bamix® cordless models.

Yes, but it needs care. We recommend a bamix® with 180–200 W or more. With lower power, processing takes longer – especially hard root vegetables. Do not press down hard and operate the SliceSy® for a maximum of 3 minutes at a time to avoid overloading the motor.

Yes, any break-proof jar or pot works. For mayonnaise or whipped egg whites, a narrow, tall container gives the best result.

Shaft: chrome-plated brass, CuZn38Pb1, ASTM B456:17
Drive shaft: corrosion-resistant (stainless) steel, 1.4305 / X8CrNiS18-9
Cutter guard (blade guard): aluminium AlSi12Fe, machine-polished
Blades: stainless steel

bamix® appliances reach up to 15,000–20,000 rpm depending on the model. The cutter guard has to dissipate heat to prevent the drive shaft from overheating – polished cast aluminium does this reliably.

Leaching from aluminium can occur when highly acidic or alkaline food is cooked or stored in aluminium containers for a long time. A bamix® is immersed in food only briefly, so there is no such risk while blending. Our appliances comply with the applicable standards and directives for materials intended to come into contact with food.

This is intentional. The attachments are interchangeable and blunt blades protect you when changing them. They would not stay sharp anyway, because a bamix® is also used for nuts, hard cheese and ice cubes – the cutting performance comes from speed and blade geometry.

Yes, with new appliances surplus lubricant can escape at first. The seal that keeps liquids out of the shaft is greased to protect the drive shaft. The lubricant is food-safe. Before first use, run the bamix® with an attachment in warm water with a little dishwashing liquid on speed II for 1–2 minutes, then wipe dry. Repeat until the tissue stays clean.

Seals are used for hygiene or cosmetic products. An electrical kitchen appliance does not need one.

bamix® uses a universal (AC series-wound) motor developed and built in Mettlen. It combines high power density, high speed and very high starting torque in a compact housing – and drives the blade directly, without a gearbox, which means fewer losses and less wear. That is why corded bamix® appliances carry a lifetime warranty on the motor.

Power is torque multiplied by speed. A universal motor is designed for very high speeds and its speed is not tied to the mains frequency. Wattage alone therefore says little about performance – what matters is how efficiently the power reaches the blade.

In a series-wound universal motor, torque rises strongly with current at start-up. The bamix® therefore delivers full power from the first push of the button, even in thick or viscous food.

The motor speed does not depend on the mains frequency. The winding, however, is built for the voltage of the respective market (e.g. 230 V Europe, 120 V USA), so each appliance must be used in the market it was made for.

We recommend a maximum of 5 minutes of continuous operation, then let the appliance cool down briefly. For the SliceSy® the limit is 3 minutes.

Chops and purées raw and cooked vegetables, fruit, berries, baby food, cooked meat, frozen fruit for sorbet, jam and even ice cubes. Blends soups and sauces and stirs cake and crêpe batter.

Whips and emulsifies egg whites and cream (always on speed I) and froths soups and sauces – for everything that should be light and airy.

Stirs and mixes shakes, drinks, purées, mashed potatoes, dressings, mayonnaise and frappés – for everything creamy; the whisk is an emulsifier.

Chops and minces meat or fish (cooked or raw) and hard, fibrous vegetables. Use meat without bones or tendons, cut into approx. 1 cm cubes, max. 500 g at a time.

Our bamix® Knowledge page explains every attachment and technique step by step.

Every few months, hold the appliance with the cutter guard facing up, put 2–3 drops of normal cooking oil (no olive oil) on the drive shaft and run it for about 2 minutes. Then clean the drive shaft in hot water.

Usually sticky food (egg, sugar, honey) has dried. Unplug the appliance, let the lower part soak for at least 10 minutes in hot water with dishwashing liquid, then lever the attachment off with a wide screwdriver. The cable outlet and buttons must stay dry. Clean the lower part after every use.

The attachments have a spring blade so that they fit precisely for years. If one becomes loose, press the spring blade lightly together with pliers (always across the axle). If it sits too tight, widen it slightly. Do not press too hard, otherwise the attachment will no longer fit.

Hardened food residue can block the lower bearing. Unplug the appliance, unscrew the cutter guard (left-hand thread – turn to the right), clean all parts in hot water with dishwashing liquid, screw the guard back on (turn to the left), add 2–3 drops of cooking oil to the drive shaft and run it for up to 2 minutes without attachment.

The cutter guard has a left-hand thread: turn it to the right to loosen and to the left to tighten.

Yes. The cutter guard is not dishwasher-safe. Clean it thoroughly; you can polish it with a polishing paste suitable for aluminium, then wash it with dishwashing liquid and rinse well.

Unplug it and do not switch it on. Let it dry completely. If the motor did not short-circuit but simply stopped working, you can dry it gently in the oven: max. 30–40 °C for 4–5 hours on a baking tray – never above 50 °C, or plastic parts may deform. If it still does not work, please contact the bamix® partner in your country.

Do not press both grey clips at the same time – press them one after the other. Lay the Processor on its side on a flat surface and push against the rim in the direction of the arrow, using both thumbs if needed.

The blade is fixed to the bowl for safety and cannot be removed. Clean it right after use with a brush that reaches under the blade. For dried residues: chop a piece of fresh bread or 2–3 ice cubes, or run it briefly with hot water and a drop of dishwashing liquid, then rinse.

Spices rich in essential oils (cloves, cumin, aniseed) can leave a sticky layer – wipe it off with lemon juice. Stains from turmeric come off with a few drops of cooking oil. Transparent parts may stay slightly milky; this does not affect function.

Shake out the liquid and let it dry for some time without operating it. Please do not open it – it may not be possible to reassemble it. The gear is well greased and should not be damaged.

This is within specification – the pin can reach about 80 °C. Operate the SliceSy® for max. 3 minutes at a time and let it cool down while you empty the bowl.
